POSITIONS AND STANDS

* End this war. Set a deadline immediately to bring our troops home!
Civilian deaths:  97,000 many of them innocent women and children.*
Know the truth about this war. This war was never about any threat to
the US. There were no WMD - it was about ideology and the agenda of
a few - the extremist, radical Neoconservatives (read about how a
handful of people played the United States of America...)

*Save the American job and you save the American economy.
Keep our jobs here. Economist Alan Blinder estimates that 14 million
white collar jobs will be lost in the next ten years unless we do
something about it. Example: Interactive Brokers in Greenwich has
more than 60% of its employees brought in from overseas, mainly
Northern European countries.  That is more that 350 high paying jobs
that could have gone to Fairfield County residents.

*Take a hard stand on illegal immigration. Enforce existing laws.
Danbury recently passes the Immigration and Custom's Enforcement
(ICE) ...

* As the insurance capital of the world, Connecticut should pave the
way for other states.

▪ Recycling in Fairfield County is down 20%. It's getting worse rather
than better. Businesses and schools in Fairfield County must improve.
Let's establish a renewed recycle plan for area businesses and schools.

QUOTES

"...a handful of
Neoconservatives
whispering in a malleable
president's ear caused
more death and destruction
than every suicide bomber
in this century and the
last....never again will we
be led into war by a special
interest group and
compliant politicians..."

The Neocons duped the
media too.  This Bill
Moyer's report will shock
you. All five segments run
more than an hour but
worth it - it'll change your

"As your Representative in the United States Congress, I will fight to
restore the voice of mainstream Americans. Special interest groups have
lead us into war and destroyed middle class opportunity. They have
dominated Washington for too long."

Mission Statement
Dear Friends,

Eight months ago, on September 9th, 2007, I publicly announced my candidacy for
Congress. On that day I also publicly challenged Jim Himes to a debate. My younger,
out-of-touch rival has ignored me. He seems to feel that because he is a member of
that tiny, elitist group: the wealthy, Greenwich, Wall Street male, that he is
somehow above the democratic process. Make him debate.

I travelled extensively when I consulted for the United States Army and, in all, I've
lived in 10 states. I've seen and learned much in my travels. As a single woman who
has been self-supporting since I was 17-years-old, I know first hand the struggles of
the average American.
I am the average American woman. Himes' money cannot
buy the kind of experience that I bring to the table. In Fairfield County,
demographically, as a single, low/mid-income woman, I represent the largest
population group - the majority. Isn't it time we had a representative who actually
represented the majority?

Unlike Chris Shays, my responses to the people will never be dismissive. When
asked about a decision I've heard him respond, "... because I feel that way." That is
not my style at all, I don't play follow-the-leader; therefore, I would always be able
to tell you
how I drew a conclusion by citing references or the personal experience
that influenced the decision. You have the right to know that I did my homework and
that I didn't just go-along-to-get-along. That unfortunate attitude is what got us into
this unnecessary war--see my "No Neocons" link. Chris Shays voted for this war.

I would keep a weekly blog so that you know exactly what I'm facing, who is
courting, who is opposing, and how I formulated my vote. I would never forget that I
report to you, the people.
